Summertime Favorites: Songs for Teens and Adults
Summer is a great time for all ages – because getting out and enjoying the warm weather and sunshine is definitely not exclusive to early childhood. For that reason, I wanted to share some of our favorite summer songs to sing with teens and adults.
We have a few people we work with that love John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads”. There’s no better time to be singing that song, than when summer is in full swing, you can take a drive with the windows down, and sing at the top of your lungs.
Another great song to sing in the summer is “You are My Sunshine”. We could simply just sing it since most people know all the lyrics, but it’s also fun to pull out some ASL and learn the sign language to go along with it.
Sometimes the freedom and outdoor play that comes with summer can be stressful and tiring – chasing kids around, sports practices and games, running kids to camps.
