Creative Connections

What is Creative Connections?

Creative Connections is a dynamic music therapy day program offered by Harmony Garden Music Therapy Services. It is specifically designed for older teens and adults with disabilities. It runs for either 2hrs or 3hrs once a week. This program provides a structured and supportive environment where participants can engage in music-making activities. The program fosters social connections, enhances communication skills, and promotes overall well-being through therapeutic music experiences. Each week, there is one hour of music therapy, plus time for crafts, games, and more!

Make MUSIC and MEMORIES!

Creative Connections is tailored for older teens and adults with disabilities who are looking for an engaging and therapeutic way to connect with others. It allows the participants to express themselves creatively and develop various skills through the medium of music. It’s an inclusive space that welcomes individuals with diverse needs and abilities. Participants may attend alone (providing that the individual is safe and able to do so) or to attend with a parent or aide. There is no expectation for communication, mobility, cognitive level, or musical interest/ability. We adapt our program to be successful for those who are interested and able to be a part of Creative Connections.
Participants engage in playing instruments, singing, songwriting, and other music-based activities designed to meet their therapeutic goals.
The program runs weekly, with different sessions available to fit varying schedules and preferences.
Benefits include improved social interaction, enhanced communication skills, emotional expression, stress relief, and a sense of community.
