Jaime Lawrence, MT-BC (she/her)

Jaime Lawrence is a dedicated and experienced board-certified music therapist (MT-BC) who has been actively contributing to the Jackson, MI community for nearly two decades. A lifelong musician, Jaime’s passion for music began early. She sang in her local church choir – elementary school through high school and additionally has been playing the flute for over 30 years. She received her MT-BC after completing her bachelor’s degree in music therapy at Michigan State University. Her love for music therapy and the performing arts extends beyond her professional work, as she actively performs in a variety of capacities, both on and off stage, and currently serves on the board of Center Stage Jackson (www.centerstagejackson.org).

In 2006, Jaime founded Harmony Garden Music Therapy Services, LLC (HGMTS) with the goal of enriching her hometown through music therapy and early childhood music programs. HGMTS has since become a cornerstone in the community, providing high-quality music therapy services to individuals of all ages and abilities. Jaime’s expertise spans a wide range of populations, from young children to older adults. This includes early intervention services, work with those with disabilities, mental health support needs, memory care requirements, and those in hospice & palliative care.

Jaime’s commitment to professional growth is evident in her pursuit of additional certifications, including a sound healing certification in 2022 with Singing for Your Soul (www.singingforyoursoul.com), which has allowed her to expand her offerings to include sound healings and corporate wellness support programs. Her work is deeply rooted in the belief that music has the power to heal and transform communities.

In addition to her work with HGMTS, Jaime is a member of Business & Professional Women, Jackson MI branch (www.jacksonbpw.org), and is a Lean Rocket Lab LOCAL Fellow (www.leanrocketlab.org), class of 2024, where she collaborates with fellow entrepreneurs to drive innovation in the region. A lifetime resident of Jackson, Jaime is passionate about fostering intergenerational connections and promoting family and community wellness through music. This passion is the Harmony Gardeners Community Healing Project and Performing Ensemble (www.hgmusictherapy.com/harmony-gardeners)

Jaime’s dedication to her craft and her community is unwavering, and she continues to find new ways to educate and advocate for the benefits of music therapy. She is excited to continue her journey of healing and connecting people through the transformative power of music.
