Welcome Oliver Westervelt III, Music Therapist!

Welcome Oliver Westervelt III, Music Therapist!

We are very excited to introduce to you our newest music therapist, Oliver Westervelt III! Oliver joined our team last week and we are so glad to have him onboard.

Oliver Westervelt III, recently completed his internship with Season’s Hospice and Palliative Care this past July, officially finishing their coursework through Eastern Michigan University to earn their degree in Music Therapy. His musical journey began in 5th grade, where he began playing drums/percussion for school band. Aside from playing in band up through 12th grade, Oliver also began playing guitar when he was 15 and knew it was the instrument for him.

Oliver’s first heard about music therapy through the Eric ‘RicStar’ Winter Music Therapy Camp at Michigan State University. After volunteering for the first time and falling in love with the profession, he promptly began shadowing a board certified music therapist before attending school at EMU. He is lucky to have found a career that combines his love of music with his love of helping others.
