Job Description: PT & FT Music Therapist
Location: Jackson, MI
Start Date: October 2022
Compensation: Compensation is hourly for PT (salaried FT) competitively based on experience and level of education
Qualifications: MUST be a Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC). Any applicants without the Music Therapy credentials and Bachelor’s Degree will not be considered. Recent music therapy interns may apply, with intent to sit for MT-BC exam within 30 days.
Status: Full & Part Time positions available
Population(s): Mental Health (children, adolescents, adults), special needs (Autism, Down Syndrome, developmental delay, etc.), Early Childhood Intervention, elder care (facility based, end of life, etc).
Schedule: Work opportunities available Monday-Friday. Will design a work week according to therapist availability with a maximum of 5 days/week

Job Description: Harmony Garden Music Therapy Services strives to root our music therapy practice in embracing, supporting, and respecting all of our clients and creating equitable and safe spaces for all walks of life. We are seeking someone who is motivated to learn and support diverse populations. This position starts with 2-3 months of progressive training, observing, co-treatment, and leading sessions building to a PT or FT caseload.
Therapist will carry a full and diverse caseload of direct music therapy work, complete administrative tasks such as maintaining client files (assessments, treatment plans, data reports, etc), learning online systems, and participating in community music therapy outreach. Therapist should be comfortable maintaining their own schedule, while also being dependable and punctual.
Clinical Music Therapists will also be expected to effectively communicate with other members of the Harmony Garden team, with parents and care-givers, and maintain a strong line of communication with supervisors.
This position will require travel to private homes and facilities; applicant must have access to reliable transportation.
Professional Responsibilities: Music Therapists must adhere to the Code of Ethics and practice music therapy within the Scope of Practice as outlined by the American Music Therapy Association. Staff Music Therapists will participate in continuing education and supervision as required by Harmony Garden Music Therapy and the Certification Board for Music Therapists.
